PUBLIC NOTICE Des. No. 1702960 The Harrison County Board of Commissioners are planning to undertake the Lanesville Connector Phase 3 project (Des. No. 1702960), funded in part by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). The roadway will extend the Lanesville Connector roadway from Old Lanesville Road NE to State Road 64 in Harrison County. This project involves the construction of the Lanesville Connector roadway on new alignment and modifications along SR 64. The typical cross section of the Lanesville Connector will consist of one 12-foot wide travel lane in each direction with an 8-foot wide paved shoulder and 2-foot gravel shoulder. A composite prestressed concrete bulb-tee beam bridge is proposed over the unnamed tributary to Indian Creek approximately 0.5 mile north of Old Lanesville Road NE. Proposed modifications to SR 64 will include realignment of the roadway to provide appropriate line of sight and geometry at the intersection with the Lanesville Connector. The typical cross section for SR 64 will include one 12-foot wide travel lane in each direction, a 2-foot wide paved shoulder, and a 2-foot wide gravel shoulder. Near the intersection with the Lanesville Connector, a 12-foot right turn lane and right merge lane will be added on the southern side of SR 64 and a 12-foot outer passing lane will be added on the northern side of SR 64. A total of approximately 28 acres of new permanent right-of-way will be required for the proposed Lanesville Connector Phase 3 project. No properties are listed in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) located within the Area of Potential Effects (APE). One resource, site 12HR0855 within the project's proposed right-of-way, is potentially eligible for listing in the NRHP and additional investigations will be conducted. FHWA has issued an Adverse Effect finding for the project because of impacts to potentially eligible site 12HR0855. In accordance with the National Historic Preservation Act, the views of the public are being sought regarding the effect of the proposed project on the historic elements as per 36 CFR 800.2(d), 800.3(e) and 800.6(a)(4).
